1.2Time & Energy System
- Day length: One in-game day lasts approximately 14 real-world minutes.
- Schedule: You automatically wake up at 6:00 AM; at 2:00 AM you pass out (losing gold and items).
- Sleep rules: Only sleeping in a bed saves the game and fully restores energy. Sleeping before midnight restores full energy; sleeping after midnight restores only half.
- Energy consumption: Hoe, pickaxe, axe, and watering can each consume energy per use. The scythe does not consume energy. If energy is fully depleted, the next day's max energy is halved.
- Recovery methods: Eating food, soaking in hot springs (unlocked after repairing the bridge on Summer 3), and sleeping.
1.3Daily To-Do Checklist
- Watch TV when you wake up: Check the weather forecast (schedule tool upgrades on rainy days), the fortune teller (lucky days are ideal for mining/fishing), and The Queen of Sauce (learn cooking recipes).
- Check the calendar: See if any NPC has a birthday (gifts on birthdays give 8× friendship bonus).
- Water crops / Feed animals: Meet daily needs for crops and animals.
- Check mailbox and bulletin board: Collect quest rewards.
1.4Farm Type Selection
| Farm Type | Features | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Farm | Flat, open terrain with maximum plantable area | ⭐ Best for beginners |
| Riverlands Farm | Large water areas, great for fishing builds | Fishing enthusiasts |
| Forest Farm | Abundant trees, daily hardwood spawns | Foraging builds |
| Hill-top Farm | High ore output | Mining builds |
| Meadowlands Farm | Starts with a coop and 2 chickens | Players wanting quick livestock start |
| Beach Farm | Sandy soil (sprinklers cannot be placed) | Not recommended for beginners |
| Wilderness Farm | Monsters spawn at night | Combat enthusiasts |
IIComplete Year 1 Opening Guide
2.1Spring (Days 1–28): Land Clearing & Startup Capital
Day 1 Core Actions
- Clear weeds, stones, and branches from your farm; till 15 plots of land.
- Plant the 15 parsnip seeds provided by the game (mature in 4 days, sell for 35g each) and water them.
- Gather 50 wood to craft a chest and solve inventory shortage issues.
- Head southwest of town to forage leeks to restore energy.
- Reach the beach before 5:00 PM and talk to Willy to receive the Bamboo Rod.
Days 2–5: Fishing for Money
- Water crops first each day, then spend all remaining time fishing.
- Fish for carp in the lake near the mines to level up your Fishing skill.
- Save up 1,800g to buy the Fiberglass Rod (unlocked at Fishing Level 2; accepts bait).
- Day 3 is always rainy — no watering needed, so fish all day.
- At Fishing Level 5, choose the Fisher profession (fish sell for +25%).
Day 5: Trigger the Community Center
- On a sunny day after 8:00 AM, enter Pelican Town from the Bus Stop to trigger a cutscene.
- The next day, receive a letter from the Wizard; go to the Wizard's Tower to drink the potion and gain the ability to read Junimo text, unlocking Community Center bundles.
- The Mines officially open — begin mining to collect copper ore.
Mid-to-Late Spring Core Tasks
Planting Plan:
- Attend the Egg Festival (Day 13) — buy Strawberry Seeds (100g each, 8-day growth, harvest every 4 days, sell for 120g, daily profit ~17.86–20.8g; the highest-yield spring crop).
- Save 1 gold-quality parsnip for the Spring Foraging bundle.
- Transitional crop: Potatoes (seed 50g, 6-day growth, sell for 80g, 20% chance of extra potato on harvest).
Tool Upgrades (Priority Order):
- Watering Can → Hoe → Pickaxe → Axe
- Upgrades take 2 days (including the day you submit). Submit before a rainy day so watering isn't disrupted.
- Copper tools require 5 copper bars + 2,000g.
Bundle Priority:
- Complete the Boiler Room bundles first (Blacksmith's, Geologist's, Adventurer's) to repair the mine carts and unlock fast travel, dramatically improving map efficiency.
- Next, work on the Crafts Room to unlock the Quarry.
Other Tasks:
- Visit the Traveling Cart on the desert road every Friday and Sunday to buy rare bundle items.
- Expand your inventory as early as possible (first upgrade: 2,000g for 24 slots; second: 10,000g for 36 slots).
2.2Summer (Days 1–28): Wealth Explosion Period
Planting Plan
| Crop | Seed Price | Growth Days | Harvest Method | Sell Price | Daily Profit | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blueberries | 80g | 13 days | 3 berries every 4 days | 50g each | ~20.8g | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Hops | 60g | 11 days | Daily harvest | 25g | ~13.5g direct / ~180g as ale | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Starfruit | 400g | 13 days | Single harvest | 750g | ~27g | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Melon | 80g | 12 days | Single harvest | 250g | ~14g | ⭐⭐⭐ |
| Red Cabbage | Traveling Cart | 9 days | Single harvest | 260g | ~17g | ⭐⭐⭐ |
💡Core Strategy: Plant large areas of Blueberries (highest overall profit and low maintenance), pair with Hops for brewing (extremely high profit with the Artisan profession), and plant a few Melons for bundles and the Luau.
Mine Progress
- Push to floor 80 to unlock Iridium ore; collect large quantities of Iron ore to upgrade to Iron tools.
- Stockpile Coal (each ore smelting requires 1 coal).
- Build 15+ Lightning Rods before thunderstorms — the Battery Packs produced are essential for crafting Iridium Sprinklers later.
Facility Construction
- Build a Silo first (100g + 100 stone + 10 clay + 5 copper bars; stores hay, capacity 240).
- Build a Coop (4,000g + 300 wood + 100 stone; raises chickens for eggs).
- Start crafting Kegs (30 wood + 1 copper bar + 1 iron bar + 1 oak resin). Hang Tappers on Oak trees (unlocked at Foraging Level 4) to collect Oak Resin in advance.
Summer Festivals
- Luau (Day 11): Bring gold-quality cheese or a gold melon to put in the potluck soup for a massive friendship boost with all villagers.
- Dance of the Moonlight Jellies (Day 28): Attend on the beach in the evening; doesn't use daytime hours.

Planting Plan
| Crop | Seed Price | Growth Days | Harvest Method | Sell Price | Daily Profit | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cranberries | 240g | 7 days | 2 berries every 5 days | 75g each | ~18.89g | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Pumpkin | 100g | 13 days | Single harvest | 320g | ~16.92g | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

| Artichoke | 30g | 8 days | Single harvest | 160g | ~16.25g | ⭐⭐⭐ |
💡Core Strategy: Main crop is Cranberries (7-day growth, harvest 2 berries every 5 days, 5 harvests total per season). Pair with Pumpkins (chance to grow giant crops). Always buy Rare Seeds (1,000g) from the Traveling Cart — they grow into Sweet Gem Berries worth 3,000g each.
Mine Sprint
- Push to floor 120 to obtain the Skull Key and unlock the Skull Cavern.
- The Skull Cavern yields far more Iridium ore and gems than the regular mines — this is the most important milestone of Year 1.
Brewing Setup
- Craft large quantities of Kegs and process all fruits into wine.
- With the Artisan profession, wine sells for over 3× the base crop value (Starfruit base 750g → wine 2,250–3,150g).

- Night Market (Days 15–17): Deep-sea fishing, buy rare items.
- Feast of the Winter Star (Day 25): Exchange gifts with NPCs (gift effect ×5).
Winter Planting

- End-of-season rule: Don't plant crops whose growth period exceeds the remaining days in the season, or they'll wither and waste seeds.

XIIUniversal Pitfall Guide
- Don't build expensive structures too early: Save up startup capital before expanding to avoid cash flow problems.
- Submit tools for upgrades before rainy days: So watering isn't disrupted; the Blacksmith still operates normally during upgrades.
- Don't sell wood, stone, or seeds: These are essential resources for building and planting.
- Donate artifacts and minerals to the Museum first: Unlocks recipes; don't sell them casually.
- Save gold-quality crops for bundles: Don't sell them directly.
- Try to sleep before midnight every day: Avoid passing out, losing money, and dropping items.
- Always visit the Traveling Cart on Fridays and Sundays: Many bundle-essential items are only available here.
- Version 1.6 new crops: Carrot, Summer Squash, Broccoli, and Winter Squash cannot be purchased from shops — obtain seeds through digging artifact spots, fishing treasure chests, or foraging.
- Raw material prices increase in Year 2: Robin's and Clint's shop prices for ore, coal, etc. double, but money earned through the shipping bin or direct selling remains unchanged.
- Skills can be reset: Spend 10,000g at the Statue of Uncertainty in the Sewer to change professions — don't be afraid of making the wrong choice.
